OAK LEAF MOUNTAIN ASH  Sorbus hybrida
• A hardy, distinctive hybrid Mountain Ash valued for its thick, leathery, oak‑like foliage, giving it a unique texture and excellent durability in prairie climates. Forms a broad oval crown with strong structure and a clean, tidy appearance. One of Phil’s favourite trees!
• Produces clusters of white blossoms in late spring that attract bees and other pollinators, followed by bright orange‑red berries that persist into fall and early winter, offering strong ornamental and wildlife value.
• Fruit is technically edible and can be used for preserves, though it is primarily valued as a bird food source; fruit drop is moderate and generally easy to manage.
• Notably drought‑tolerant, urban‑tolerant, and disease‑resistant, with better resilience to fire blight and environmental stress than European Mountain Ash. Minimal suckering and very little pruning required, making it a low‑maintenance choice for residential and municipal landscapes.                                                                                                      • Full Sun
