THIESSEN SASKATOON  Amelanchier alnifolia ‘Thiessen’

• A highly productive, prairie‑hardy cultivar of the native Saskatoon berry, prized for its large, sweet, deep‑blue fruits—often among the biggest of any Saskatoon variety. Excellent for fresh eating, baking, preserves, and commercial or home orchard production.
• Produces abundant clusters of white spring blossoms that attract bees and other pollinators; flowers are followed by heavy crops of flavourful berries in early to mid‑summer.
• Forms an upright, multi‑stemmed shrub with strong branching and vigorous growth; ideal for edible landscapes, shelterbelts, hedgerows, and wildlife gardens.
• Extremely hardy and well‑adapted to prairie conditions, thriving in loam or clay soils and tolerating drought once established. Requires little maintenance beyond occasional renewal pruning to maintain productivity.
