TIGER EYES CUTLEAF STAGHORN SUMAC Rhus typhina ‘Bailtiger’
• A stunning, dwarf form of Staghorn Sumac with deeply cut, lacy foliage that emerges chartreuse, matures to gold, and finishes the season in fiery oranges and reds. One of the most dramatic four‑season shrubs for prairie landscapes.
• New stems are a striking rosy‑red, contrasting beautifully with the golden leaves. The plant has a sculptural, almost tropical look despite being extremely hardy.
• Produces upright clusters of red, fuzzy fruiting cones (drupes) on female plants, which can be soaked in water to make sumac lemonade or dried and used as a spice. These persist into winter and provide food for birds.
• Much less aggressive than standard Staghorn Sumac — spreads slowly and is easy to manage, making it suitable for urban yards and ornamental beds.
• Thrives in poor, dry soils and exposed sites; excellent for hot slopes, xeriscapes, and bold focal‑point plantings.
• Full Sun
• Zone 3, 1.2–1.8 m Height × 1.2–1.8 m Width
