HANSA ROSEā€ƒā€ƒRosa rugosa ā€˜Hansa’

• A classic, ultra‑hardy rugosa rose known for its large, intensely fragrant, double magenta‑purple blooms that appear from early summer and continue in waves until frost. One of the most cold‑tolerant and disease‑resistant roses available.
• Thick, deeply veined, rugose (wrinkled) foliage stays clean and healthy all season, even in harsh prairie conditions. Rugosa roses are naturally resistant to black spot, mildew, and pests.
• Produces abundant, oversized bright red rose hips in late summer and fall—excellent for jellies, teas, syrups, and wildlife forage. Hips persist into winter and add ornamental value.
• Forms a dense, suckering shrub with stout thorns; ideal for hedges, windbreaks, security plantings, and low‑maintenance cottage gardens.
• Extremely adaptable and thrives in poor soils, sand, clay, salt spray, and exposed sites. Very drought tolerant once established.
