Spirea, Goldmound

GOLDMOUND SPIREA  Spiraea japonica ‘Goldmound’

• A compact, colourful shrub prized for its brilliant golden foliage, which emerges vibrant yellow in spring, softens to chartreuse in summer, and often develops orange or red tones in fall.
• Produces clusters of soft pink flowers in early to mid‑summer, attracting bees and other pollinators. While the blooms are modest, the foliage provides season‑long impact.
• Forms a tidy, rounded mound with fine texture—excellent for borders, foundation plantings, mass plantings, and adding contrast to darker shrubs and evergreens.
• Very easy to grow and adaptable, tolerating clay, urban pollution, and moderate drought once established. Responds well to pruning and can be rejuvenated by cutting back in early spring.
