Partners in Bloom
Partners in Bloom is a local community beautification initiative between Wheatland Trees & Garden Centre and local businesses to enhance public spaces with a diverse range of plant material—including trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and ornamental grasses – many of them flowering and/or native species that play an important role in supporting pollinators and biodiversity. This initiative works to improve quality of life for residents in the community by providing plants to participating businesses, either for free or at a largely reduced cost, to help create vibrant, welcoming spaces and strengthened community pride.
In 2022 we partnered with both Origin Malting and Brewing and Four Sisters Kitchen and Table to help curate their outdoor community spaces to be both beautiful and share their brand image. Our team helped select the right species, shared practical growing advice, and supported projects that brought long‑lasting colour, texture, and vitality to community landscapes. Although our involvement in Partners in Bloom is now part of our history, community‑led greening remains central to who we are. Enjoy the photos!
Growing Alberta's Urban Forests
Across Alberta’s cities and towns, healthy urban forests are essential for creating vibrant, healthy and resilient communities. We support municipalities, developers, schools, and community groups in establishing diverse, climate‑adapted plantings that enhance shade, improve air quality, and strengthen local biodiversity. From providing trees for new subdivisions, park plantings, and boulevard trees, we supply hardy, Alberta‑proven species that thrive in urban conditions. Mini forests — compact, high‑density plantings inspired by the Miyawaki method — offer a powerful way to transform small urban spaces into thriving pockets of nature. We provide suitable species selection, region‑appropriate guidance, and nursery‑grown stock that helps these plantings establish quickly and deliver long‑term ecological benefits. Whether revitalizing a schoolyard, enhancing a community green space, or adding natural infrastructure to new developments, we help bring mini forests to life across Alberta. Let’s work together to bring more trees, shade, and biodiversity into Alberta’s communities – give us a call.
